Of course, there is no right or wrong answer. What type, brand, era, genre of music do you listen to when you're looking for comfort?
Good topic!
I don't listen to near enough music. I love music, but I also love quiet. I like all music. I'm a product of the 70's so I still like those rock bands that never get old. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, even Metallica.
I love Christian rock music. It helps me to remember that I can count on something much bigger than this life in this aching body. A promise of heaven in a body and a place where there is no pain. Fabulous.
I absolutely love classical music. A little Bach or Beethoven please!
I like folk music very much. I just put Jonathan Edwards, Rockin Chair on my IPod. He's a folk singer from the 70's.
I would love to hear what everyone uses to soothe themselves. Thanks Armando!

I’m a music lover of all types but I really love Hall & Oates, Daryl has a Internet show “Live From Daryl’s House” where he has various artist at his house to jam out and I really get lost in it, makes me forget all the aches & pains for awhile.
Just like most every one else I love every sort of music from classical to rock. But for now, let me share one that I've been listening to lately.
I’m a country girl all the way !!!
But I have the whole 70’s & 80’s collection
Hugs
Dee
Country girl here too. Loved Tim Magraw 2 hour show tonight!!
OOOOOOHH, I like your gal, Armando! Thanks for including her, not many can come close to Judy, but she does!
I love all types of music, I played classical violin as a child, but the British Invasion won my heart, starting with the Beatles!
I love old swing and torch music, blues, Motown, folk, but at heart, I guess I'm a rocker, though Steely Dan is my all time favorite!
I listen to country but my favorite is the 80s...my MP3 is loaded. My daughter has taken on my love for music...but she laughs at me when Im cooking, cleaning or whatever. I usually have my music in my ears and kinda dance along..she loves it, BUT when we grocery shop...the store we go to usually has 80s playing and I sing n dance along and she gets a bit embarrassed...I tell her who cares, be yourself. I dont know what I would do with out music...always have it on no matter what Im doing....so does my daughter....lol
No matter the type you listen to....it is a soother and will release your stress....rock on!!! ;)
WOW! Let's start sharing some samples. Here is a country music I love from way, way back.
I love this song,,,thank you for sharing
I like everything! R&B, classical and pop are my favorite though. I’m a 70’s baby and grew up with great music and still enjoy the oldies, especially when I want to relax.
Oh my, music is my medicine of choice. I am a country girl for sure and really enjoyed the Tim McGraw special last evening, but I also grew up in the 70's & 80's and love some Journey, Reo, Bruce and some James Taylor and lots more too. Ok so I love classic rock too....
When I feel like crap, I need slower paced music - Bach works beautifully as does much of the work done by Ella Fitzgerald (try her work with Louie Armstrong called "Ella and Louie" & "Ella and Louie Again").
I am a HUGE Bob Dylan fan and much the work he did in the 1960's and 70's up to his three religious albums - worry, I have a limit. I love his bootleg series. Dave Brubeck fills the void as does anything with world's greatest back up jazz guys in Oscar Peterson (piano), Herb Ellis (guitar), Ray Brown (bass) and either Gene Krupa or Buddy Rich on Drums. Early Johnny Cash is great too. Anything and I mean ANYTHING by the great Thelonious MONK
I also enjoy selected tunes by Anita 'Day, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Enriquez, Diana Krall, Harry Chapin, Blue by Joni Mitchell, Ray Charles, Red Garland, Renee Yoxon, Sam Cooke, The Grand Illusion by Styx, Breakfast in America by Supertramp, Tom Petty and Van Morrison.
To be perfectly honest though, often, I just prefer the quiet.
HI Sharon, I like musictoo and yes I too watch Daryl's house, yes it was good watching them have fun, I like country music too, I like all kinds. and should listen to it more. going to try too listen to more, christian music to Michael Smith is good too. later joanie <3
My #1 right now is Pitbull. He did 2 numbers last night on the Billboard Music Awards. Kid Rock, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, I like the up tempo to help me fight the pain or depression. Mellow isn’t me. I can’t remember my other CDs. Sorry.
EVA CASSIDY !!!!
She was amazing! I found her by accident a few months ago, and have been listening to her constantly. This track is one of my favorites.... such a major tragedy, to lose someone so special like her.
Thanks Armando for bringing her up!

I'm an 80's girl -- I had a little meltdown recently, listening to an 80's show on the radio, and they called it their 'oldies' show!
When did I get old?

Music is definitely great medicine for the soul. When they ask that question, "what 3 things would you take to a deserted island" --- music is always my main requirement!
I have too many choices, it all depends on mood. I have everything on my main playlist, from Sam Cooke, to Aerosmith, to Adele, to Garth Brooks, to Eminem! I don't think there is anything that I DON'T use as comfort!

tricky, I saw Pitbull on a New Year's Eve show, and was hooked. I've got tickets for Kid Rock this summer -- I saw him last year, and his show is AMAZING. I can't wait !

I like most English music, but mostly from the 60's to the 90"s. I do have some Christian songs. I also like some instrumental songs.
