When you wake up each morning, do you feel like you have been beaten?

Yes, exactly right! As you say, same with the clothes, too.

It's too bad that they don't make clothes with built in heating pads. But long pants and hoodies sound good. Gonna need them very soon. Weather is definitely colder than last year at this time. Those 40 and 50 degree days are coming soon.

He was going to go today, he was going to do alot today...

Never got done, so guess who's gonna get to do it?

This is a great post Fibrofriendsrock,

Everyone is getting in on this! Everybody knows just what you are talking about!

Gotta do what we gotta do, whatever works, OMG! Takes us a while to figure it all out, huh?

So frustrating that sleep makes us "seize up!" But my afternoon naps don't.

At least you've found yourself a "happy" medium in your sleep cycle. Esp. if you can avoid the agony end of things.

Almost time to sleep and am already in Tin Man mode.

I try to think of it as an adventure! Lol! Everyday is different, you can wake up one day feel terrible then a few hours later feel ok. On other days wake up feel ok and by the end of it be trying to stop the pain. I just try to enjoy when I feel ok.

I am having a hard time keeping up with the responses. Talk about not feeling alone! Thank you God!!! My hands are hurting so I am gonna take a break from typing. Thank y'all for continuing to share your stories. :) Tomorrow when I wake up I am gonna say "You can do it" ;) and believe I can!!!

Well said there FibroFriends Rock! Thats a good attitude to have and the best way to deal with this illness. It takes a while to adjust to the mornings and fight another day.

Sometimes we have really bad days and we have to accept this too, and try to balance our activities etc to give ourselves the best possible chances.

But with an attitude like that you will have a much better time of fighting daily battles.

Good on you!!

Aww thanks FibroFriendsRock! Bless you!

Keep up the fight!!

Loadsa hugs!!

Awww you girls. Proper pair of cuties... bless ya's!! x

I know exactly what you mean. Falling up is better than falling down though. I hate that feeling when you've had a very near miss. It's awful to think that we could lose it in half a second. Hospitals are so boring and we don't need any more pain. Although you do get some pretty good pain medicine in hospital.... Hmmmmmm.... nah I'd still rather fall up the stairs. lol

So true SK.

Bless the superheroes. Its nice to have someone there who listens and cares and helps others so much. It's very rewarding I bet.

Hugs all round!

Yeah I wake up all through the night feeling like I've been hit by a truck. My elbows, shoulders, back and especially my ribs. I have to change positions which hurts like hell so that I can fall asleep again only to wake in pain again. I have this almost every hour every night. Sometimes I wake up crying the pain is so bad. When the morning comes I fell like I haven't slept at all and it takes all my energy to talk myself into getting up. When I get up the pain goes away for a while but then I'll get it somewhere else, like today my leg and foot is giving me heaps. I feel like an elephant stood on me! I also have dreams quite frequently that I am unable to walk or move at all because I hurt so much and that really scares me.

Hello Berrygus

I have had fibro for a very long tme and that never happened to me. I was diagnosed in Nov of 1987 but the more I learn about fibro the more I realise that it started in my teen years and I am still walking. That is your dreams talking to you. But once you have been diagnosed then it is a very good idea to learn all you can about the chronic illnesses so as to be better able to deal with it. Winnter where I live (in Alberta) usually is hard to live with fibro, yet some winters are specially mild.........like last year for instance. Now that the weather is getting cooler I know that I neef to wear cotton gloves because the cool air makes my hands ache.

Just prepare for things. You will learn to prepare.

Gentle hugs

Rachel

Thanks Rachel,

Winter is hard for me too, I also have Trigeminal Neuralgia and the cold air on my face drives me insane! We are in spring now (Aust) so I'm looking forward to a bit of a break, but the fibro seems to go all year round for me. I have always had pretty intense dreams for as long as I can remember, but more recently they seem to be centered around me not being able to move. I always seem to need some sort of vehicle to move me usually a skateboard of all things! I gave those up 35 years ago!! Maybe I need to find my inner child!

Gentle Hugs right back at ya!

Hey FFR,

It's midnight and I feel as though I have been beaten. Wrists had been bothering me terribly, so get a script for x-rays, they immediately stopped bothering me, months later, about 2, they are thumping like beaten with hammers. I am thinking barometric pressure is causing it. I have been waiting for them to start up again before having the shots, looks like the time is approaching!

Hope tonight is being kind to you! Wow you surely got a lot of responses in a short period of time! Never feel alone about this again, we are all with you on this!

Wishing you well,

SK

I have been beaten (like many times)… that heals physically… fibro is the beating that never heals…

SK,

Yes, you had several storms, no? Instant barometric pressure beating. Probably stopped hurting because it was summer and now that it's colder again, the pain's back.

Do the shots help much and for long? Pretty sad when the idea of a shot starts sounding so darned wonderful! I'm almost drooling in envy. Yes, sounds like it's time to go for them again and stave off the pain a bit.

This is an excellent point.

But my God, I'm sorry that you've had many beatings. That's wrong wrong wrong.

I moved to Las Vegas from Missouri four years ago. The weather there was keeping me in bed constantly. Las Vegas weather has helped because of low humidity and lots of sun but when there are weather changes exhaustion rolls over me and I sleep around the clock sometimes for 48 hours straight. The heating pad is my best friend. I have one that covers my back and comes up over my shoulders . It helps with the pain that’s mainly in my back and shoulders as I’d I have daggers in them. I constantly fight depression and anxiety I have no family here and my husband died a month ago.
I’m wondering if anyone deals with extreme fatigue during weather changes? Or why weather changes causes me to be so exhausted. I’ve asked this question to drs and other professionals. No one can give me an answer.
