Oh no....kidney stones?

Hi everyone, I sure could use some prayers. So much going on. I haven't been feeling well for about a week now. Pain in my right flank area, radiating around to the side. I don't have an appendics or ovaries, so can't be anything to do with that. My doctor thinks it might be a kidney stone and I am waiting on a call to go in for a cat scan. I'm not sure if it is a stone although the symptoms are consistent with one....except I don't have unbearable excruciating pain at this point. The last kidney stone I had, was beyond horrible. It got stuck in my ureter, and tore up the muscle. I ended up begging for mercy or death, As the pain was unbelievable. They rushed me into emergency surgery, and also placed a stent, ,which they left in for ten days. My doctor explained that the unbearable pain comes, when its trying to pass. And that mine could still be floating around, which is why it hurts, but not yet tried to pass. She has scheduled a cat scan so we can check to make sure its a stone, and not a kidney infection or something. It is more painful today than it has been, so hoping I get that scan tonight or tomorrow. Just generally not feeling well over all today. Feeling nauseaus and just uncomfortable.

Also we have family coming in tomorrow to spend the weekend with us. I sure don't want to be sick or in the hospital while they are here. It's been eight years since we've seen them!

Hugs, Vicky

Prayers on the way!!!

Gentle HUUGGSS, Kimberly :)

Dear Vicky

Chronic pain over years just wears us down in every way. We feel like it will never lessen even for a brief time so that we can think. Then on top of this chronic pain you are hit with unbelievable pain from kidney stones. I can only imagine the weakness you must feel from this pain. I pray that God will supply you with extra strength to deal with this excruciating pain and that the kidney stone passes quickly from your body. And then that God's peace allows you to fall asleep so you can gather some healing and strength to be able to visit with your expected visitors this weekend.

Please keep us updated.

Love, prayers and gentle hugs

Rachel

I’m praying you get whatever it is, over with. Keep calling you Dr. Over and over until they do the scan. I also pray you have pain pills to get you through this.

It’s one of those things you say “What Fresh Hell is This?”

Prayers are sent your way!! Hoping you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I've been there. No fun. Had SEVER pain earlier this year. One Dr blames it on my chronic back pain and accused me of ' using the ER for chronic issues'. Don't feel I was and chronic conditions flair up and need urgent care at times. My chronic pain doesn't make SCREAM out in pain. Never did learn the cause, I think it was a stone. (Won't say -this two shall pass', but it will)

Wish you the best.

I have had one kidney stone and hope I never have another. I will be thinking of you.

Vicky, I am so sorry for your unfortunate problem. You never know how these things are going to turn out. Hopefully, that stone will wait. I hope it does and you stay pain free.

Wow. I'm sorry about this recent development, Shynsweet. It does sound like it could be a kidney stone, especially since you've had them in the past. You could try downing tons of water in an effort to flush it out. I tried that method but it didn't work. Elsewise try to get your doc to get the CT scan done ASAP. I don't know if it would call for treatment or not, if it does prove to be a stone but I can say that lithotripsy is very effective in crushing up kidney stones, so if one is there, a good treatment is available.

I honestly cannot think of a single thing that might make a kidney stone more comfortable while you're waiting for the CT scan, Vicky. But you are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you can get this pain straightened out quickly.

And enjoy your company if you can, although it's hard when you're feeling miserable with a kidney stone. Boy, that really does stink!

A gentle hug for you and a strong one for the kidney stone, to break it up,

Petunia

Yes, pain pills are a good idea!

I had hip pain for two months. Went to doc . He had nothing to offer but go to phy therapy. Don’t wanna… Lol! Sick of spots that don’t help me … Couple days later I thought I had a kidney stone or was in labor with the second coming of Christ since I had a hysterectomy. Felt as bad as labor but steady pain. Home alone. Couldn’t walk or stand until I had an unmentionable number of Percocet . Got a friend to take me to ER. They were nice This time… Not the time I had a migraine. Treated me like a common criminal looking for drugs… Was my first and only migraine ER visit!!! Back to my hip… Tested me for bladder infection. None. So it is BURSITIS… Huh…that stuff is no joke!!! They gave me two pain shots and an anti inflammatory shot… Went home and slept for a couple days. It went away with those shots which is weird according to my doc… He thought staying off my leg must have done it… I say it was the anti inflammatory shot.

Kidney stones are horribly painful. Hope it passes on its own.

I feel your pain I thought I was in labor but it was a kidney stone also does this run with the fibro this is the second kidney stone that I have had in the past several years since I was diagnosed with fibro does it run with it or does any one know the answer

Keep calling the Dr. Office. The squeeking wheel gets the grease. (Yeah I’m from the South).

Keep us updated on your condition. Hugs n prayers.

Yes, I can relate to the 'fresh hell' comment, Perk! For sure!

I hope you are being well taken care of, my friend, and that this new episode is soon far behind you!
