Pain free....sorta... not any more:(

I did finally get some sleep. I was watching tv and the next thing I know I was woke up for my night meds. Last night was rough till the changed my pain and migraines. They have every thing spaced so I can have some thing every 2 hours. I do have the migraines still here but a lot better. I have an ultrasound in the morning to view my gallbladder. I also have a bulging disk in my neck. The Dr said it wasent bad enough to do any thing about. I am going to ask the Neuro Dr about it when I see him.

Your gallbladder? I hope it's okay. Gallbladders can be such finicky animals and cause a bunch of pain. So I hope you're not dealing with that, Stephanie.

I'm wrinkling my nose at the bulging disk in your neck. No wonder your neck hurts! I know those docs are always saying it's not bad enuff blah blah blah but I have a bulging disk and arthritis in my back and it's painful as heck!!! I'm not sure when docs consider it "bad enuff" to do something. Grrrr. Yes, good idea to ask your neuro doc about. And maybe a back specialist? And a pain management doctor.

Now doesn't it make sense that they space your meds so you get something every 2 hours? Other hospitals should have done that too as well as kept you in longer. Do they have any idea of what's causing the pain in your ears and skull? Is it all from the migraine? Will the migraine eventually go away?

It's just good to know that you're in the hospital, being tested and kept comfortable at the same time. Please keep us posted on your medical status and let us know when you're released from the hospital.

Sleep well,

Petunia

Stephanie,

Glad you’re feeling better and that the hospital is taking the time to run all the tests and leave no stone unturned. I remember you had pain which the doctors seemed to ignore and you suspected it might be gallbladder. As for the disk in your neck, while it might not negatively impact some people, when you’re a fibromyalgia patient, everything is magnified x100. So definitely remind the doctors about the fibromyalgia!! On a personal note, though I have had almost 5 epidural injections for disk issues, my last pain management doctor said that the disk problems were not significant and shouldn’t cause pain. Needless to say, I won’t be seeing him again! Well, keep up the good fight, and feel better soon! xx

Hiya, Eeyore!

I'm taking it as a GOOD sign that you're off line for so many hours. Hopefully, hopefully they are hours of sleep. And then some tests, treatment, food and more sleep. Your body must be owed several weeks of sleep by now! Bless you, I don't know how you stayed so calm and sane with so little sleep. I know I would have been slapping people after day one of no sleep. Maybe you should have; it might have got you the attention that you so desperately needed.

Anyhow, how's the migraine today? Do you still have it? Are you still in the hospital? Do you have any answers yet? Are you improving at all?

And most importantly: sleep, sleep, sleep!

Don't you hate when docs say that? I mean, doctors expect disk problems to be painless? I don't think so! And now add in fibro and you have the basis for A LOT!!! !!!! !!!! of pain.

I am on my way home. I still have a slight head ache but nothing at all like the one I had. Most of the lingering pain is from my neck. I am feeling a lot better. I am planning on going to bed early and just sleeping till I wake up. So good night I will update you on how my condition tomorrow. Thank you for all the prayers I believe that’s why I am better.

Well, that hospital sure did something right. Like admitting you and running tests and keeping you until you were much improved. Which seems so much more ethical. And humane. Putting the "care" back into healthcare.

I'm interested to know what was done and what, if anything, was found. And if they told you what to do in the future to avoid such a horrible situation again.

But what a miracle that you only have a slight headache tonight.

Sleep well, sweet dreams,

Petunia Girl

i was sent home with several meds :butal/acetamino/cf50-40 tab, medthylpred, amitriptylin 50mg,propranolol 20mg,prochlorper10mg,narco 5/325 cyclobenzapr 10mg. thank goodnrss my mom was able to afford all my meds. it was $75 for all them. i did get luckly that several of the meds were only $4.

i did get sleeep when i got home but my mom had to wake me to get my meds cause she had a friend in from out f town. it was fine caause then i was able to get my meds and eat dinner. i was so out of it i thought i thought it was the middle of the night.

my head so far is not hurting. i couldnt be happier. i now your prayers r with me and helped. i was also great to keep reading all the post. i am hoping that with all these meds it will keep any pain away. i believe i will sleep all day tomorrow till my brother goes to work. my step dad may watch him if he is home with my brother has to leave. my mom has to work 1-9 so she can help my get my nephew down for bed if needed. he is really good so if needed i can just lay down o the couch and he can play or watch tv. i know he will be good i am not worried. he really is such a good kid.

i will let u all know how this know night goes. i am pretty tired and i am in hardly in any pain so i should sleep. thank you all so much for helping get through this.

EeyoreLuver ,
I’m am so so happy you have some relief, I thought you might have a disc issue, and let me tell you I have seen 3 different surgeons over the past 7 years, because I have 4 discs in my neck that are messed up, and they each said something different, one told me that bulging disc is the same a herniated, even a slight bulge or herniation can cause horrible migraines. like you I have had headaches since childhood, so just about anything that can cause a headache gives me a headache ( prone to them) when my first neurologist gave me the list of what triggers migraines I looked at it and said all these thing give me a h/a lol, not really funny !
Your list of meds, sounds like you are on the right track, the butalbital is what helps me the most, I used to take amytriptoline years ago for migraines, it made me sleep like crazy … Crazy dreams, I tryed it again a few years ago and it made me so groggy in am, are you taking that at night? Do you feel groggy when you wake? , I’m glad some of them were only $4, thank god !!
You sound better, I’m so happy, message me when things settle down if you want to chat

Hugs& blessings

thanks i will look into the dick thing. all i know is that i do feel better and it was great to finally get some relief. and sleep. i am glad my mom was happy alot of the meds were on the $4 list too. it still ended up being $70 but there were 7 different meds. i took them all and passed out.

LMAO!!!!

Sorry Eeyore. I guess sometimes absence of it makes it funnier.

my gallbaldder ended up being fine. the docs didnt say anything about the disk. i didnt think to ask questions then probably due to all the pain meds.

i have very good news i SLEPT yes i finally got sleep. i got woke up for dinner which was probaly good cause i am pretty sure i will pass back out tonight.

the drs never did say what was causing the pain in my skull behind my ears. it is still there but not quite as bad. i cant tell enough how much i appreciate all the prayers and support. i am just hoping that being on the meds at home will continue to go away. the pain i am now that i am awake is not as bad as it was. i am still waiting for the pain meds to kick in i want to make sure the pain doesnt get too bad.

there was a tornado warning alert on my phone which was loud and i didnt hear it i say it once i woke up. thats how soundly i slept. i was so great to finnaly sleep. as i am writing this i feel like i could pass right back out so i am sure i will not have any problems sleeping tonight. i will update again tomorrrow. i hope i sleep all day again i am sure it will help since i have have missed so much.

my mom gets worried when i sleep for really long periods thats why i was woke up but dont worry i wasnt woke up to clean. i do still have to finish my room since alot of my room is in the loft. i am pretty sure i can wait till monday to work on it again. i want the weekend to finish recovering and get more much needed sleep.

the great thing thing about the meds was i wasnt just given 12 like ers usually do i was given a 30 -40 even with the nacro and migriane meds. that will give plenty of time to see how it works and get to the dr for refills. i wont need frfills on all so it wont be so much. they changed my bp med to one that will help with migraines. and i thnk i want to stay on the new depression med i have heard alot og good things from others on this site.

i just want to say thank you all again. and if i ahve any more issues i will go back to that er. the dr i say in the er told me i would be going home before he ordered the test or got results. i think he knew i was in bad shape. i got such great care there from everyone in the hospital. i have never had such great care. and it wasnt really wasnt far at all.

Seven meds??? Holy heyho! Was it all due to the migraine? Or is more wrong?

Thank heavens for the $4 list. Sometimes you can find needed meds on the cheap at Walmart and Target too, Eeyore. Although they don't cover a lot of things. But it's worth a look.

I guess you did pass out! We heard no more from you yesterday. But I knew that was good. You must feel some better due to sleeping.

Is your headache finally gone? I'm almost afraid to ask.

You must be doing a bit better. GOOD!

Most of the meds were for migraine relief. One was for nausea one was a different bps med that will help prevent migraines as well as the antriptalilne. The others were for pain and spasms.

i thought that i would give everyone an update. up until to day i was having head pain i think from the buldging disk in my neck. i did get a migraine today but i cant complain.

due to the meds i am on from the hospital i have been very sleepy and sleeping a lot. i know i wasnt getting much b 4 going to the hospital so i am sure that has been having an effect on my sleeping.

i do however have a question. hospitals usually use 1 of 2 tapes. 1 paper 1 clear. well i had the paper tape on my arm and now i have a horriable rash that hurts pretty bad. i was putting antibotic cream on it and covering it with gauze. i have also tried to air it out. so far no luck on it getting better. i showed my mom she said it doesnt look infected. i have no idea what to do. tonight i mixed the antibotic cream and the cortizone cream together and covered it. i will see what happens.

Yep. And if they think it's something minor and don't want you to go in, I'll tell you that I had something similar happen to me with the tape, which did go away. I don't know if it would help any to not cover the rash and let it air out all day. But the ER is the 1st line of defense.

I hope you can get it cleared up right quick, Miss Eeyore.

EeyoreLuver , so glad you gave us a laugh, as you are looking into that DISC thing !!! I’m so glad you do sound like you are on the right track to finding the right combo of treatment !!!
You have been through so much, take it slow… Even all week … Not just the weekend !
If that rash starts to get worse ( more red, blistered, spreading ) get it looked at especially if it becomes open… As in oozing any kind of secretion. Tape can cause redness & rash , however it should get better and not worse.
Sweet dreams …
Hugs & blessings

Omg I just now saw that mistake. Lol too funny.

My rash. I noticed it Friday. It’s now Monday and it did get a little worse and now it’s just staying the same. No better no worse. Petunia did yours look like this? My mom said she doesn’t think it infected. I haven’t seen any thing like this before.
If anyone has had a rash like this and knows what I should or shouldn’t do it would be great… thanks
