I ended up just going to the pharmacy about the rash. They said to mix first aid cream with hydrocortisone cream and keep it covered I got some non stick gauze but it still hurts. I am hoping it will heal quickly. It’s driving me crazy.
I hope your migraine goes away quickly. I feel bad that u suffer with them too.
I hope u have s great thanksgiving as well. We r expecting 30 people. We have the whole restaurant my step dad works at to b able to fit every one. It’s also great cause no one has to provide drinks. And every one will have plenty of space. I am looking forward to it.
I don’t like the way that looks, if it doesn’t start to get better by tomm, I would get it checked out ! Was it just from the tape, or was that the area they had the IV ?
How do you feel ?
Hugs & blessings
The Iv site is just to the left of the rash. The rash appeared after I took off the paper tape. I bought non stick gauze and mixed the creams. I haven’t looked at it. I am hoping by morning it’s better. Having both creams and the non stick gauze seems to lesson the pain. I just hope this works I have no idea why it’s not healing.
I know with fibro it takes longer to get over being sick so would a wound be the same way?
the rash is a little better today. i cleaned it today and put the creams on and a clean bandage. my wish is for it to heal by thursday(thanksgiving).
i had a few days of no migraine and then they came back. its not as bad and i am hoping it will go away and not come right back.
i need it to be gone so i can go see the last movie in the Twight Saga. i am not going opening night but some time that weekend. my sister is going to take me as a b-day present since my birthday is the 19th.
i cant wait to see it
Sorryi didn't wanswer yesterday, haven't been feeling well at all.
Yes, my rash did look like that but I didn't have as much of it. I must say that it seems that things seem to take longer to heal when you have fibro. Has anyone else noticed this?
Is the rash still bothering you? I know mine was painful for several days.
Do you have disk problems too? Oh, I hope not! I hope you're feeling better today!
Oh no, not the migraine again! Do you have meds to take to reduce them or else reduce the pain? Have the doctors told you WHY you're getting them? I don't know much about migraines but it doesn't seem normal to get month long migraines. Did the doctor give you any ideas on how to try and prevent them or is that not possible?
I am also wondering if you are having an allergic reaction to latex that's causing your rash. If you still have it, you should have it checked out. Oh, and did you ever get your Medicaid number so you can see doctors outside of hospitals?
I'm hoping you're getting some more sleep. I'm sure you're still needing it!
Take care, Eeyore! Sleep well.
The Dr has no idea what is causing the migraines. The hospital did change my bp med to one the is supposed to help reduce migraines they also gave me amitriptyline for the same reason. The were able to give me a med to make the migraine go away once it has started.
I think our rapid weather change has something to do with this migraine. We had weather in the high 60’s over the weekend then yesterday it snowed! The snow didn’t stick but I can’t believe it snowed.
My migraine seems better but my blood pressure is up and I can’t seem to get it down. I need to follow up with the Neuro Dr but I am broke and my mom doesn’t have any money.
I found out that what ever number I was given concerning the medical card it won’t allow me to see the Dr. I am not really sure what the number for the card will allow me to do. So I have to wait to get approved.
Hi Eeyore. I'm still wondering if your high blood pressure is causing the migraines. Did the doctor ever talk about that possibility? My late ex had horrific headaches before he was diagnosed with high blood pressure. And it's not good that you can't get your bp down. I know that happens to my mom sometimes too. Maybe you'll need a tweak in your new bp medicine. Your old bp medicine wasn't doing the trick either though, was it? Yeah, like I said, does your high bp = migraines?
I'm not very knowledgeable about migraines. Can weather affect them? I know it can affect sinus headaches, for sure. Maybe it's true of migraines as well.
Did the Medicaid office tell you how long of a wait you'll have before you're approved? It's odd that they gave you a number without telling you what it was for. What was the point of that? I can't imagine it taking all of that long to get a Medicaid card and number once the application is in. Maybe a month at the most from the time of filing for it? Or a month and a half, tops. If that. Probably not nearly as long of a wait, so hopefully you'll have it very soon. Thank heavens it's not like waiting to have your disability approved!
since the laptop wont let me reply like i want here is the reply to the last post of Petunias the last pb med is was on was working as long as i wasnt in horriable pain. when my pain get too bad my bp shoots up. this new med isnt working to well i think i just neeed a higher dose.
as far as the medical card it was someone at the hospital who gave me the number not the public aid office. they said once they have everything it will take 3-6 months to get approvel. i have no idea how the hospital got the number they did.
i have a bad migraine today. i am starting to wonder however if now it might b a rebound migraine. i know that was not the case before because i didnt take any meds for a week and the migraine was still going strong. i did get relief from yesterdays and i am hoping to today too. we will see. i did look up how to stop a rebound migraine and they said no pain meds for 5 days. i just know i want it gone for sunday cause my sister and i r going to see the last movie in the twlight saga. and my bithday is monday.
my mom and i r going shopping today for my birthday. we have to go today due to the coupon. i did take the meds today to stop the migraine but i will not take any for 5 days and see what happens. i am not looking forward to the pain but if this works i may be migraine free for awhile. that is my hope. i am hoping shopping will get my mind off the pain.
i guess its just wait and see after today as far as my migraine goes. i was put on two meds that r supposed to help in the reduction of migraines. i hope they work.
going shopping was a lot of fun i got lots of new stuff at great prices. however my head is now killing me and my asthma seems worse too. i just cant win. we went to 3 store but 2 were right next to each other. the 3rd we had to drive too. we only shopped for about 2 hours so i dont see why my body is so mad at me.
oh well just another great fibro day and i am sure by the time i go to bed i will really be feeling it. i think i am going to hide in my nice dark room for the next few days. maybe then i will feel better.
That's a shame that you have to go to such lengths to try and banish the headache. Is it possible that something in your environment is causing them? New laundry detergent? New shampoo or soap? Perfume? A new kind of food you're eating? Was pesticide sprayed in your area recently? I know I'm grasping at straws and it's probably your FIBRO causing the migraines. Arrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!
Please feel better. You can't feel sick for your birthday and celebration. Even fibro can't be that mean.
i havent tried any news soaps of any kind. i can only have dye free stuff and i stick with the few brands that i trust. like i by ALL for laundry and Alveno for my body.
how would i find out if something is being sprayed?? that is not something i have thought of. no new foods that i can think of. thanks for the suggestions.
I guess you could call your town clerk's office and ask them if there have been any recent pesticide sprayings done by the town. It happened once when I lived in Florida and some of the wildlife died from it.
Do you have any known allergies to any foods? Can you recall what has set off your past migraines? I suggest you start keeping a log of what you eat, any known stressors and anything unusual going on that might influence your migraines, so you can look back on this in the future for info.
I also suggest you read other blogs with other migraine sufferers to see what their triggers are and how they handle it.
Hope you're having a better day today.
ok i think i am going to go insane. i think the migraine i have now might be a rebound one. the only way to know is to not take any pain meds for 5 days. at least thats what it said online. today is the 1st day and its not going well. i took a 3 hour nap and all i can think about is going back to bed so i can fall asleep and not feeel pain.
does anyone know if i need to wait 5 days w/o pain meds to see if this migraine will go away. before the hospital i did this and it didnt work. the hard part right now is that i know i have something to take the migraine away and before nothing was working. before nothing was helping at all to take the pain away not even take the edge off but its so hard knowing i can have relief but at what cost.
i hate not knowing if this is just a migraine that wont go away or a rebond one that i just have to wait out. i can tell u this if i make it 5 days and this migraine is not gone i will be pissed off. i am so sick and tired of migraines i could scream.
has onyone else had a migraine that lasted over a month. i did get a little relief for a few days. i wasnt migraine free but at least the pain was gone for awhile. but that was after being admitted to the hospital for the 3rd time. if anyone knows if i have to go 5 days or maybe fewer please let me know.. thanks
thanks i will do that. most of my really bad migraines have been from stress. there was this one type of pizza that set off migraines. it was a frozen one that i really liked. some how only that brand caused migraines no other pizza did. nothing else i know of is a trigger. well if i dont have any caffine within a few hours of being awake i will get one too.
thank you so much for all the info u provided. this is the first time i have had a migraine for this long. i have cut back on playing with my phone and being online. i used to spend hours on this site but not anymore. a lot of times now i log in to respond to a post and then get rigtt off. tonight has been different cause my head has been killing me all day and i know no matter what i do i will be in pain. i know i shouldnt be doing things to make it worse but i guess tonight i dont care.
i wish i knew more about what triggers mine but i dont. there is one food and i avoid it other than that its usually stress or my cycle. neither of which i have much control. but after tonight i will just try to only be on for short periods again.
i was just given an abortive med to help. because of the hemiplegic migraines i cant have triptans i hope u know that. i was perscribed several meds after my last hospital stay. i have been having this horriable neck and pain in the back of my head so i was taking narco.flexeral, and friosit. the combo alone with a neasua med i have never heard of was helping to take away the pain. before all this i would excederine, mothrin, or aleve. not together but seperate to get rid of the migraine. i had noticed that if i take my meds within 30 minutes of the onset and laydown they would go away. that is not the case now.
See, it takes a fellow sufferer to be able to provide meaningful info. Hyacinth's post is wonderful.
Maybe you do need to do things in the dark and avoid all lighted items. And if you have one eye that especially bothers you, you could get an eyepatch to wear over it. Heck, you could be Pirate Eeyore.
As for your stress, maybe if you talk to your mother and tell her that less stress in your life (translation: her not nagging you incessantly about finding work) would help you feel much better sooner and help you to be able to look for work again. And then I think it would be a great idea to follow Hyacinth's regime. Maybe it would help you.
ok the migraine got worse as the night went on and i was awakened by the pain from it. so much for tring to go 5 days w/o meds. the first thing i did when i got up was take the meds for the migraine. i couldnt handle the pain. i swear that the pain just kept getting worse the longer i had it.
not really sure what my plans r from here. i may just go back to the er and see if they can stop the migraine with the steriod shot that i was given while i was admittted. i have only had a few doses so my body is not used to it so i hope it would work to take the migraine away. if not i hope they will re admit me and figure out what to do to try to stop it.
i will try the sunglass thing. and start a log of possiable triggers. now that u mention a sugar replacement they caused me to be very sick along with the migraine. i tried a long time ago to switch to diet soda. it didnt go well along with a migraine it just made me sick. this was before i read the that sugar substitues were bad for fibro. i dont drink at all got very sick from just 1 shot on my 21st birthday and decided not to drink after that.
how do i zoom in to make the text bigger. some how by mistake i have made it smaller but i have no idea how i did it or how to make it bigger. i have been doing my best to drink lots of water. some how i still seem dehydrated. i will see if my mom can pick up some smart water that should help.
thank you again for all the info it has been really helpful.
