Stress at work?

Hello,

I'm looking for some helpful hints to help deal with stressful days at work. What do you do to help lower your stress level at work?

I'm having a "miserable Monday" and am very stressed out at work today. It feels like no matter what I do to try and relax, I can't! Things just keep coming up. I know I can't control the people I work with or their actions, but I can control my reaction. The morning started off bad. I woke up late because I was exhausted and in pain, was 15 mins late to work and walked into a crisis situation with a client. Happy Monday to me! *Sigh*

Thanks in advance,

Sara

Hi, Sara. Yes, stress, we all have it to one degree or another. I work with the public also & that is very stressful at times. I really try to get to bed early enough to insure I get at least 7 hours of sleep, & 9 hours is better! Then I try to get up & allow myself PLENTY of time to get ready & off to work on time. Problem is, lots of time I can’t sleep well if at all. So for those times, I try to get a hot whirlpool bath with lavender bath salts. I make sure my husband puts my pain patches on my lower back or shoulders, whichever happens to be hurting. I have some warm tea & lemon. I take trazodone if need be to help me get to sleep. I have been also studying up on natural remedies to control inflamation as the arthritis is as painful as the fibro. I am changing my diet. Less pain equals a better day. Added stress equals more pain. If you have some good remedies, I would love to hear them. I think it’s a balance of everything that makes your days less stressful, whether at work or at home. Hi Deb,

Thank you for the thoughtful reply : ) I have a feeling things are going to only get worse from here on out. Two of my team members have announced their resignation and the place I work takes forever to hire new people, so that means myself and a few other team members will be providing coverage for them until they find a replacement.

I have also changed my diet and have started eating Organic and Chemical free. It has helped significantly with inflammation. I will message you with some of the tips the Anti-Inflammatory diet books I purchased suggest for inflammation and pain remedies. I'll message them to you later tonight.

I definitely agree that it is a balance of everything to make the day less stressful. I'm working on figuring out what works and what doesn't work.

Hugs,

Sara
